Topics Notifications allow you to subscribe to specific categories of alerts that interest you most.

How Topics Work

Instead of receiving all alert types, you can choose to follow specific topics such as:

  • Weather-related alerts only
  • Health and disease outbreak notifications
  • Food safety and recall alerts
  • Environmental hazards
  • Public safety notifications

Benefits of Topics

Topics Notifications help you:

  • Reduce notification volume by focusing on what matters to you
  • Stay informed about specific areas of concern
  • Customize your alert experience
  • Avoid alert fatigue from too many notifications

Managing Your Topics

To customize your Topics Notifications:

  1. Open PHapp® and sign in
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap “Topics you follow”
  4. Select the topics you want to follow

Recommended Settings

We recommend:

  • Following the hazard topics that affect where you live, such as weather and wildfire
  • Reviewing your topics periodically based on seasonal needs (e.g., enabling weather alerts during storm season)
  • Enabling all topics for your primary location if you want comprehensive coverage
