What is the PHapp® Research Preview (Demo)?

An early, sandboxed look at PHapp® for Wehealth® Forum members and partners

The PHapp® Research Preview — also called the Demo — is an early, sandboxed look at where PHapp® and Portal by Hub are headed. It's open to Wehealth® Forum members and partners who want to try new features well before they ship and help shape them with feedback from the field.

What it is

The Research Preview runs at demo.ph.app, completely separate from the live service. It's a sandbox: alerts go only to participating members, no real residents are affected, and nothing you see or do touches the production PHapp® or Portal that the public depends on.

Who it's for

  • Public health professionals and agency leaders
  • Emergency managers and first responders
  • Researchers and academic partners
  • Community health workers, promotoras, and community partners

How to join

Getting in takes two steps:

  1. Request access through the Wehealth® Forum and be approved. Access is tied to the email address you join with.
  2. Install the app (below) and sign in with that same approved email.

Installing the app and being approved are separate steps. Anyone can install the Research Preview, but it only opens for approved members. If you sign in before you've been approved — or with a different email — you'll see an "Access pending" screen.

Install on iPhone or iPad (iOS)

The iOS preview is delivered through Apple's TestFlight.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, tap the invite link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/5uMpKUZs
  2. If you don't have TestFlight yet, the App Store will open so you can install it — then tap the link again.
  3. Tap Accept, then Install. The PHapp® Research Preview appears on your home screen.
  4. Open it and sign in with your approved email.

Install on Android

You can join from your phone or from any web browser.

  • On your Android device: open the Play Store listing, tap Join under the testing section, then Install.
  • From a browser: open the Play Store testing page, sign in with the Google account on your phone, choose to become a tester, then install from the Play Store on your device.

Then open it and sign in with your approved email.

Use it on the web

Prefer not to install anything? The Research Preview also runs on the web at demo.ph.app — sign in there with your approved email.

It says "Access pending" — what's wrong?

The preview is open only to approved Wehealth® Forum members and partners. If you see "Access pending":

  • Make sure you signed in with the exact email you were approved under — aliases and "+" addresses won't match.
  • If you haven't requested access yet, request to join through the Forum first.
  • If you were approved and still can't get in, reach us through in-app Messages or at support@hub.inc.

Is this the same as the PHapp® in the App Store or Google Play?

No. The Research Preview is a separate, sandboxed app, kept completely apart from the live service. The PHapp® you'll find by searching the App Store or Google Play is the live product communities rely on today.

Research Preview vs. Beta

The Research Preview sits earlier than the PHapp® Beta: it's where ideas are still forming and there's time to change direction, while Beta is the near-final stage that catches bugs just before a public release. If you want to test release candidates rather than early concepts, see the Beta program.
