What are content credentials?

Digital certifications verifying alert authenticity

Content credentials are digital certifications that verify the authenticity and source of information in PHapp® alerts.

Why Content Credentials Matter

Content credentials help ensure:

  • Alerts come from verified, official sources
  • Information hasn't been altered or tampered with
  • You can trust the guidance you receive
  • Misinformation is prevented

Trusted Partnerships

PHapp is built on partnerships with leading agencies and programs. As a NOAA Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador, PHapp is recognized for helping communities prepare for and respond to extreme weather and water events. This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and life-saving information.

How They Work in PHapp

Every alert in PHapp includes content credentials that show:

  • The original source agency (CDC, NWS, FDA, USDA, etc.)
  • When the alert was issued
  • Verification that the content is authentic
  • Chain of custody for the information

Viewing Content Credentials

You can view an alert's content credentials by:

  1. Opening any alert in PHapp
  2. Scrolling to the bottom of the alert
  3. Looking for the "Source" or "Verified by" information

This transparency helps you make informed decisions based on trustworthy information.
